Brilliant, opinionated, and charming, Barbara Nachtrieb Armstrong was the first woman to be appointed to a full time teaching position in an ABA-approved AALS member law school. A fierce advocate of social insurance, she also helped the Roosevelt Administration create the Social Security program.
